Thinly
Veiled Fascism
As
the world spirals into paranoia and racial hatred once again, is it surprising
that veiled (is it really veiled?) fascism begins to spread through Europe?
Will the West be struck down by a crippling fear of "rag-heads"
under the beds? Better dead than rag-head?
I
doubt it. The West is civilised, educated and compassionate. The "West
is the best." It would not fall and strangle itself in the umbilical
chord of the better world it has borne.
The
West is the epitome of democracy, humanity and justice. Here is the proof:
- It
abhors the idea of using a weapon of mass destruction that causes indiscriminate
loss of life. Blanket bombing is apparently more precise.
- It
abhors the idea of using weapons of mass destruction with the power
of 1000 tons of TNT. 12,000 munitions dropped on Afghanistan did not
cause mass destruction.
- It
abhors the idea of using planes as weapons of mass destruction. B52's
excepted.
- It
abhors the idea of weapons of mass destruction. The combined Defence
Forces of the West are therefore incapable of mass destruction one presumes.
- It
abhors the idea of apathy as hundreds of thousands of innocent people
die globally on an annual basis. The West spent somewhere in the region
of US$30,000,000 on cruise missiles alone in an attempt to avenge the
deaths of more than 5000 of those people.*
- It
abhors the idea of non-combatant casualties from terrorism but finds
them to be an inevitable outcome in war.
- It
abhors the idea of electoral farce. Well, let's not go there...
- It
abhors the idea of using chemical compounds to kill people. Cold steel,
hot lead and flaming petroleum products applied to cause tissue trauma
are the more humane methods of maiming and killing.
- It
abhors the barbaric idea of using cold steel or hot lead to kill criminals.
Using chemical compounds is more humane.
The
West leads for a better world by example.
Quod
erat demonstrandum.
